About

A Commitment to Public Service

From information technology to public office.

Yaser Khan Chowdhury is the son of Anwarul Hossain Khan Chowdhury, who represented the Mymensingh‑9 constituency in the 1991 National Parliament election.

Before entering elected politics, he worked as an information technology professional, including a long tenure in the Information Technology Department of the BBC Television Network in London.

He served as convener of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s Nandail Upazila unit before winning the Mymensingh‑9 seat in the 13th National Parliament election of 2026, regaining the constituency his father had held 35 years earlier. He was sworn in as State Minister for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on 17 February 2026, and was later nominated Chairman of the Journalists’ Welfare Trust.
